Come eat, drink, dance and celebrate summer with Descant as we launch our latest issue with a good ole’ fashioned house party!

Descant 141: EXCAVATIONS features new poetry and fiction, and includes an essays by literary juggernaut Alberto Manguel on the work of Jorge Luis Borges AND a Contributing Editor’s column written by Professor Mark Kingwell of the University of Toronto. The issue also features the winning poetry from the 2008 Winston Collins/ Descant Poetry Prize! Descant continues to marry strong writing and striking design, with a two-shade interior and full-colour artists’ portfolios. This edition features the industrial portfolio, Excavations, from acclaimed painter Denyse Thomasos, as well as a selection of work from photographer Robert Teteruck and Toronto’s David Trautrimas.
