David Trautrimas Featured at LE Gallery!

We here at Descant first introduced the work of artist David Trautrimas through our Summer 2008 issue, 141: Excavations. In between written works about destruction and renewal we featured “Industrial Parkland”, a stunning collection of Trautrimas’s manipulated photography. The series reassembled new media into beautiful and unsettling industrial scenes, a perfect fit for an issue that explored the concept of rebuilding.
Now, we are pleased to let readers know that Trautrimas has an equally compelling new collection of work on display at LE Gallery: “The Spyfrost Project“.
With “The Spyfrost Project”, Trautrimas has mixed landscapes and household appliances to create gritty scenes reminiscent of Cold War era technology, at once both historic and futuristic. The end product is a series of images that are disturbingly real and fascinating to look at.
“The Spyfrost Project” is on display at LE Gallery now – but hurry! The exhibition ends on May 30th.
LE Gallery is located at 1183 Dundas Street West. It’s open from 12 PM to 6 PM, Wednesday to Friday, and 1 PM to 7 PM on Saturday and Sunday.
